Today while Jason was working, Caraline and I headed to Kentucky to go to the Heritage Festival in Horse Cave. There is nothing really special about this festival other than the fact that in one day I get to see all of my family, friends, and former students from back home. I may also want to mention the food! I look forward every year to getting a rib eye steak sandwich and potato wedges from the Cattleman's Association. I am sure it is by no means healthy, however, I only eat this once a year so it basically doesn't count.
There is also a competition for the booths that set up at the festival. The point is to go all out decorating your booth to win the first place trophy. Of course my dad and his booth for his landscaping company take this competition very seriously!!! When I say "go all out" that doesn't even begin to describe how much he does. Of course he usually wins so every year gets better than the last! This year was no let down and he took home the trophy once again. I had to take pictures because I was so proud of much effort he put forth to promote his business. Take a look for your self!!

The best part of the trip for me is that everyone is able to see Caraline and how she has grown since most of them haven't seen her since the festival last year! Caraline didn't seem to mind that 100's of people were ooohing and aaahing over her. Caraline was so tired from all the visiting that she slept the entire way home! We both had a great time and look forward to next year!
