Our First Day at the Beach

The drive from Atlanta to Florida went by quickly....well it did for Caraline and Me because we slept most of the time. Jason watched movies on the dvd player to keep himself awake (yes he did this while driving). We arrived around lunch time and went to the condo to meet up with Kat (our friend whose condo we stayed in)to get the keys. We unpacked the car and then went to lunch because we were all starving since we didn't make any stops on the way down. We went to the first place we found which was the Peking (Chinese) Buffet. We then went to the grocery to get the necessary food items for the week. After grocery shopping we headed back and changed into our swimsuits and headed down to the beach. We were so curious as to how Caraline would react since this was her first time in the ocean. Of course I had my camera to take picture and video. When we sat her down she seemed excited and ran straight towards the water. Once she got there her excitement quickly turned to fear when she lost her balance and fell into the water. I could tell the water moving was making her dizzy and she wanted no more to do with the ocean. Since Caraline was not enjoying the beach we decided to take her to the pool. She soon got over her uneasiness and began playing and have a grand time. We let her play for a long time before we decided to have family nap time. Once we caught up on some much needed rest we headed out in search for dinner. We didn't realize that New Smyrna was a sleepy little town where everything closed at 7:00 so we had a hard time finding a place for dinner. We ended up at Subway (yes we drove all the way to FL to eat subway :) We brought our dinner back to the condo and enjoyed it while sitting on our balcany watching the crashing waves. We decided to call it a night early since we were so exhausted from all the traveling and unpacking.
